# Import customer identity

> Imports a customer's existing identity verification into MoonPay so their KYC can be expedited, using a share token issued by your KYC provider. Used by the [Shared KYC integration](/widget/shared-kyc). Your account must be enabled for KYC sharing before this endpoint accepts requests — contact your MoonPay representative. Pass the same `externalCustomerId` to the widget so MoonPay can match the imported identity to the customer. A successful import returns HTTP 200 with an empty body.
